OLIVIER CAZENAVE
Winemaker since 2003. The passion for wine hit me at the age of 17 years at a Harvest Festival where I discovered the depth of the wine world through a bottle of Pomerol. Before making my dream to "make my own wine" come true, I had to wait a long time because neither ancestry nor my predispositions destined me to become a winemaker. With no affinity for the scientific world, I graduated in Literature, Philosophy and Political Science) which is probably why my friends call me a wine poet!
Then, when starting to work, I immediately jumped into the wine world by working at several traders in export sales because that's all I wanted to do and the idea of working in another field than wine had not crossed my mind. With time, my tasting skills improved, and I became purchasing manager and co-founder of the company "ChateauOnline," one of the first websites specializing in online wine sales. The rest is history…
ANNE CAZENAVE MULLINS
Married to Olivier in 2003 (crucial year for us!), Anne is not an employee at the winery but remains very involved in the life of Château de Bel through her strong involvement including reception, packaging and harvest, and a lot more. With her strong personality and caustic humor, she is an integral part of the spirit of Château de Bel and supports Olivier in every way.
VÉRONIQUE DUCOURNEAU
Employed at Château de Bel since 2007, "Vero" is the other pillar of Bel, tirelessly working in all weathers in the vineyard and in the winery. Passionate about her profession (not always easy when you have to prune in freezing wet winter weather!), She respects and cares for the vineyard as would a mother for her children, and "as only a woman could do" I like to say, convinced of her talent.
ANNE CALDERONI
Oenologist and consultant in biodynamics, her scientific background combined with a deep understanding of natural balance and cosmic forces might come across as odd, but once you work with her on a day to day basis you come to understand how accurate and pertinent her sense of understanding is and that it is not that difficult to bring balance back to the soil or rejuvenate a plant. Anne and Olivier have been working together since September 2015 to facilitate the transition of Château de Bel to biodynamic practices.
