Description
Domaine Grosbois & Domaine des Hauts-Baigneux
- Support the growth of a biodynamic wine producer in the Loire Valley -
The history
Founded by Nicolas Grosbois and Philippe Mesnier, Domaine Grosbois and Domaine des Hauts-Baigneux share a unified vision within the LVI group, which also encompasses a wine trading division. Located in Panzoult and Azay-le-Rideau, the vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically, with meticulous care for the soils, landscapes, and true expression of their terroirs, resulting in modern, precise wines that capture the essence of the Loire Valley.
Domaine Grosbois
On the right bank of the Vienne Valley, between Tours and Saumur, Domaine Grosbois spans 25 hectares within the Chinon appellation, centered around a 15th-century fortified farmhouse. The estate also features a restaurant where visitors can enjoy its wines alongside meats and vegetables produced on the property.
Domaine des Hauts-Baigneux
Domaine des Hauts-Baigneux, meanwhile, covers 14 hectares in the Touraine Azay-le-Rideau appellation, on flint-rich soils particularly well-suited to Chenin Blanc, as well as a local red grape, Grolleau. In 2026, a restaurant will enhance the experience, allowing visitors to enjoy the wines on-site, paired with thoughtfully crafted gourmet dishes.
THE PROJECT
The funds will be used to modernize production facilities, strengthen climate resilience, develop wine tourism, and support the estates’ move upmarket. The MiiMOSA financing will specifically cover the working capital required for export growth, amounting to €320,000. Already established in 15 countries, including Canada, the United States, Sweden, and Belgium. Domaine Grosbois and Domaine des Hauts-Baigneux now aim to consolidate and expand their international presence. They are targeting markets where their wines have already found success, standing out for their quality and responding to growing demand for environmentally responsible wines, crafted from the unique and distinctive terroirs of the Loire Valley.
Winefunding x MiiMOSA
For this fundraising campaign, we have partnered with the French platform MiiMOSA, a specialist in crowdfunding agricultural projects focused on ecological transition.
WineFunding has collaborated with Nicolas Grosbois and Philippe Mesnier for over five years to structure and prepare this initiative, with subscriptions made entirely online via MiiMOSA.
We are delighted to announce our very first collaboration with MiiMOSA, a platform that shares our core values: supporting producers and guiding them toward sustainable and responsible growth.
By investing in this project through MiiMOSA, you will receive monthly repayments of principal and interest in cash, at an annual rate of 6% over four years. The minimum investment has been intentionally set at €100, making it accessible for a wide audience to support these outstanding estates.
HIGHLY ACCLAIMED WINES
THE WINES OF DOMAINE GROSBOIS
Clôture
The 60-are gem in the heart of the hillside is a century-old plot, planted with pre-phylloxera vines that have stood the test of time. Since the 2020 vintage, around 3,000 bottles of Clôture are produced each year. Made entirely from Cabernet Franc, this cuvée can age gracefully for up to 15 years and pairs perfectly with a beautifully grilled côte de bœuf.
Clos du Noyer
Great-grandmother Thérèse named this plot Clos du Noyer for the walnut trees and the former enclosed vineyard, soon to be replaced by a living wall—a permanent hedge of pear, walnut, and fig trees to boost biodiversity. This unique 1.24-hectare terroir sits atop the hillside on shallow, clay-limestone soils. Its proximity to the forest brings freshness and protects the vines from water stress. Clos du Noyer is the estate’s flagship cuvée: a singular wine that embodies the character of Chinon with remarkable consistency.
Gabare
Domaine Grosbois’ signature cuvée pays tribute to the men of the water—boatmen, fishermen, and barge operators—who shaped Nicolas and Sylvain Grosbois’ childhood along the river. Sourced from twelve carefully preserved plots dating back to the 15th century, with clay-sand soils, yellow tuffeau, and gravel over limestone, it reveals aromas of fresh peony and licorice. On the palate, it unfolds with roundness, breadth, and subtle smoky notes, resulting in a generous, expressive wine that pairs beautifully with a lamb navarin.
Montet
The Montet cuvée, the newest addition to Domaine Grosbois, was born from a geological curiosity on Île Bouchard, east of Panzoult, where five hectares of vines root in the “tuffeau”—exposed chalk topped with river-smoothed gravel from the Vienne. This unique terroir gives the wine freshness, acidity, and tension, with aromas of redcurrant and raspberry and a finely structured palate with delicate tannins. Aged in oak, Montet stands out for its bright, airy personality, promising excellent aging potential and a distinctive expression of the Chinon appellation.
THE WINES OF DOMAINE DES HAUTS-BAIGNEUX
Clos des Brancs
100% Chenin Blanc
Clos des Brancs is the signature wine of Domaine des Hauts-Baigneux, coming from a singular 1.6-hectare Chenin Blanc vineyard in Saché, within the Touraine Azay-le-Rideau appellation, planted on flint-rich soils. Biodynamically cultivated and hand-harvested, this white wine reveals the Loire Valley terroir’s freshness, minerality, and precision, with vibrant tension and a saline finish that perfectly express the unique identity of this remarkable site.
Spontané
100% Chenin Blanc
Spontanée is the Domaine’s natural sparkling wine, made entirely from Chenin Blanc grown on the Azay-le-Rideau terroir. Crafted using natural winemaking methods with spontaneous secondary fermentation, this sparkling wine offers delicate bubbles, a fruit- and mineral-driven bouquet, and a fresh, easy-drinking palate, capturing the lively and pure expression of Loire Valley Chenin. Free-spirited and joyful, Spontanée embodies the Domaine’s authentic character and creative spirit.
Les chenes sauvignons
100% Sauvignon Blanc
Les Chênes Sauvignons is a dry white wine from the Touraine Azay-le-Rideau appellation, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown on flint-rich soils. Cultivated organically and biodynamically and vinified with native yeasts, it delivers a precise and vibrant expression, combining freshness, tension, and minerality, with notes of citrus, white fruits, and a saline finish. A true terroir-driven wine, it is perfect as an aperitif or paired with seafood, fish, or plant-based cuisine.
Grolleau
100% Grolleau
This 100% Grolleau cuvée showcases the pure expression of this classic red Loire Valley grape. Organically grown and vinified with natural yeasts, the wine stands out for its lively freshness, spicy red fruit aromas, and a light, approachable structure, making it an ideal companion for charcuterie, grilled dishes, or mild cheeses.
