THE CHÂTEAU MONTPLAISIR PROJECT :

DEVELOP WINE TOURISM

It is in this ideal location, facing the Castle, overlooking the vineyards and foothills of the Massif Central, that we would like to develop a reception area above the wine cellar and an adjoining tasting cellar.

Project details

We began by building an elegant gravity cellar burrowed in the “safre” (the local rock), thus benefiting from natural thermal regulation.

After having vinified the first two vintages on a winemaker friend’s farm, we were delighted to be able to use this modern winery for the 2018 vintage.

We now wish to convert the buildings adjoining the cellar into :

• a sales and tasting cellar

• a beautiful room to accommodate 60 people for weddings and seminars, with an adjacent logistics space for the caterer

• a large terrace with unobstructed view of the vineyard which can accommodate more than 100 people

Floor area: 290 m2 Total covered area: 400 m2 Cave surface: 70 m2 Surface tasting room: 110 m2

An event and sales management team including two full-time staff and on-demand service providers.

Development of wine tourism and events

These new elegant state of the art spaces will enable us to develop wine tourism and events for individuals and businesses: weddings, business seminars based on wine events, tasting sessions, food / wine events, cooking classes, tasting training, etc.

The private wine tourism market is booming. We already have accommodation and group reception facilities: the idea is to convert our offer to be suitable for weddings.

The market for business seminars will be approached via a network of corporate clubs, companies and personal contacts.

Many companies in the region, including the Tricastin-Marcoule energy centre and the European fruit and vegetable innovation centre, account for more than 20,000 employees in the vicinity. The Avignon and Lyon regions are also in proximity.

Additionally, these services will generate wine sales and should help to increase the percentage of sales through these distribution channels to 25% of total sales. A turnover will also be generated by the rental of space.

In accordance with the regulations, please note that you need to be registered and signed in to have access to the WineBond information.
