EXPERT OPINIONS

« Round and friendly. Racy! »

  • 15.5 : A Stéphane Derenoncourt wine. Round and friendly. Racy! [Millésime 2015]
  • 15.5 : Very dark. Attractive lifted perfume. Sweet start and not too exaggerated. Still with quite concentrated tannins. But some fruit is discernible. [Millésime 2010]

« I Love the density and finesse to this wine »

  • 88/89 : A fresh and clean red with plum and berry character. Medium body. [Millésime 2015]
  • 90/91 : Love the density and finesse to this wine. Full body; fine tannins and a caressing finish. Seamless tannins. [Millésime 2014]
  • 90/91 : What a texture with this wine with dark chocolate, mineral and loads of fruit. So impressive. Loads going on. Big surprise. New wine for me. [Millésime 2010]

« absolutely joyous, delicious wine [...] beautifully harmonious »

  • 87/89 : The 2015 Magdeleine Bouhou is a tasty, straightforward offering to enjoy over the next few years. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Malbec, which adds a distinctive high-toned note to the bright, red-fleshed fruit. This is another absolutely joyous, delicious wine that overdelivers big time. There is nothing complicated here, just a beautifully harmonious, mid-weight and highly affordable wine, something Bordeaux does like no other region anywhere in the world.
